HOW TO SET-UP YOUR TIP-DOWN®
|
|
The Tip-Down® is a complete ice fishing system consisting of a fully assembled fishing
rod & rod support/storage tower. These simple steps will have you fishing in no
time.
- Unscrew the leg base from the case coupler and remove the fishing rod from the folded
legs.
- Pull on the lanyard to extend the inner tube.
- Fold out all four legs on the leg base and screw the leg base into the case coupler.
(Leg base is now inverted.)
- Place the Support Tower (case with inverted leg base) next to your ice fishing hole.
- After setting your fishing depth; (bobber* set at water line) and baiting your choice
of hook* or lure*, set the fishing rod on the inner tube and wind up any excess
line*.
NOTE: To keep your fishing rod balanced use a bobber large enough to offset the
weight of your lure (including bait and sinkers). By trying different weights, bobbers,
and positions of the support tower with regard to any wind conditions the fishing
rod can be balanced for any conditions you may encounter while fishing.
- When a fish strike occurs the fishing rod will tilt down until it hits the inner
tube. The fish may take as much line as necessary.
- Firmly grasp the fishing rod and spool at the same time and set the hook. Now pull
the fish in by hand.
-
After removing your catch, continue fishing by resetting the assembly.
Perform the following steps to store the unit for transport.
- Use the spool handle to retrieve the fishing line. (Secure hook in small holes on
rod lock.)
- Unscrew the leg base and fold the four legs around the fishing rod.
- Retract the inner tube completely into the case outer tube.
- Screw the leg base with fishing rod into the case outer tube.
- The Tip-Down® ice fishing system is now ready for transport.
*PLEASE NOTE: This unit does not come with any bobber, hook, lure, or fishing line
due to each fisherman’s personal preference in these products.
